The Collgar Community Fund Committee met recently to assess the Level 2 Grant applications received in Q4, FY2026. Four applications were received during this time across the categories of Health and Wellbeing, Education and Training, Events and Music, and Community Asset/Refurbishment.

We are happy to announce the Level 2 funding recipients for Q4 as follows.

Merredin Emergency Connectivity - Starlink for St John WA

The Collgar Community Fund Committee supported funding for 3 x Starlink Mini satellite connectivity units for the St John WA Merredin Sub Centre. These units will improve emergency communications in areas where mobile and telecommunications coverage can be limited or unreliable. This will support ambulance response, volunteer mobilisation, navigation and operational communication during emergencies and network disruptions. Reliable connectivity is essential to volunteer safety, coordination and timely patient care.

St Mary’s School Merredin - Front Fence Project

St Mary’s has been successful in receiving funding to replace the schools ageing fence with a modern, updated and visually appealing entrance boundary. The existing fence had deteriorated over time and no longer reflected the welcoming, vibrant and community-focused environment the school strives to provide. This project will improve the overall presentation, safety and functionality of the school frontage, whilst creating a positive first impression for students, families and visitors.

Burracoppin Football Club - Electronic Scoreboard Upgrade

This project is a collaborative initiative involving the Burracoppin Football Club, Nukarni Football Club and Merredin Colts Football Club. CCF funding will contribute to the installation of a new electronic scoreboard at the Merredin Regional Community & Leisure Centre. This funding will be used to replace the existing scoreboard at the MRCLC with a new fixed electronic LED scoreboard. This upgrade will deliver a high-quality, multi-purpose electronic system that significantly improves visibility, functionality and the overall game-day experience.

Yilgarn Agricultural Society - Yilgarn Agricultural Show

The Yilgarn Agricultural Show is an annual event held in Southern Cross, bringing together the Yilgarn community and surrounding areas for enjoyment, connection, education, and health and wellbeing. The Yilgarn Agricultural Show was successful in their request for funding to cover a portion of the cost of amusement rides, enabling the Agricultural Society to offer them free of charge for children. The grant will also support the cost an Instruckta truck initiative, which aims to educate road users on how to safely share the road with trucks and other heavy vehicles.

Congratulations to all of the successful grant recipients. The Collgar Community Fund is proud to support these valuable projects, which will provide meaningful benefits and have a positive impact across the community.
